STORY: One of my dreams was to move to Southern Ca STORY: One of my dreams was to move to Southern California. It all started at just 11 years old when I left cold Wisconsin to visit my aunt and uncle here on vacation, and knew instantly I had found where I belong. But the funny thing about dreams is, other people will try and talk you out of it because they can only see perspective from their own broken dreams… You may hear things like…. “Why would you want to be that far from Family? Isn’t family important to you?” “My God, the cost of living is so high” “You don’t know anyone there, how are you going to meet anyone” “But you had a good job here, and you’re just going to walk away and start all over?” But the important thing to remember is this… These well-meaning people in your life gave up on taking risks in order to accomplish huge dreams a long time ago. They took the safe route, where they stopped fighting against the norm. And so the only advice they can give is from their own perspective of what feels safe to them right now. This advice is not meant for the dreamers. The dreamers of the world have their very own constitution and part of that is high risk tolerance. They are fueled by what could be possible! Use that fuel. Take the risk. Make the move. Start the company. After all, the roller coaster ride that it will be IS literally where the joy comes from. I see you dreamer… you’ll be just fine. No, you’ll be better than fine!
There’s some lessons you simply can’t learn from a There’s some lessons you simply can’t learn from a textbook or a class… You must experience them yourself, face the fire, and learn how to navigate them real time. Life hack… make sure that when you’re facing the fire, you have a fantastic network or an incredible mentor to lean on.
