I have high expectations of myself. I expect to be full of energy all the time, to be happy by default, and dreaming big every day. And, honestly, most of the time I meet those expectations, but the problem with having such high expectations is that we can’t meet them every single day – it’s literally not possible.
There are going to be days where you don’t have it in you to be a ten out of ten. And when we don’t, we beat ourselves up. The internal pressure of wanting to feel better and do more only makes things worse. If you can give yourself permission to operate from wherever you are and free of guilt, you are going to remove all of the stress from your day and you will actually get more done and feel even better.
Give yourself permission
to not be at your best
every day.
